Due to the heat and the radiation from the moon being set on fire, those on Ebaq 9 were going to be stranded there for a while. There were tents set up for them, complete with supplies and breathable air... and absolutely nothing to do.

While Jaina had slept for an embarrassingly long time when everything was over, not having work to do was really sort of bothering her. She'd take time to join in the meld with Tesar and Jacen to help Lowie heal, but even after realizing how close she really had come to just breaking back there, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was slacking.

At the moment she was sitting on a cot in the tent, watching the others, and coming to the further realization that yes, in fact, she was turning into her mother.

[FOR THAT BOY WH IS THERE. SEE I DID NOT POST IN CAPSLOCK.]

Jaina had begun to think of 313 as her war room. Yes, that was a bad sign, and it was especially so that she'd spent so much time in here in the last week, but that was just the way it was. Since she couldn't be there flying with Twin Suns, she'd been conferenced in via holotransmitter as Twin Suns and the Wild nights completed their raid on Duro, with Jacen directing the Jedi in the battle from the bridge of Ralroost. And when it was all said and done, she didn't even need to yell.

Afterwards there was another remote meeting with Kre'fey and Farlander because there couldn't be breaks between operations or anything, and then she proceeded to record personal messages of congratulations to her pilots. She knew she was hard on them and pushed them farther than they probably wanted to go, even from here, but in months of battles and drills and raids, she hadn't lost a single pilot yet. That deserved recognition from your commanding officer.

There were definitely worse ways to spend an evening than telling people 'good job'.

[Establishy, but feel free to knock if you wanna deal with my pudding brain. (Tapioca. Put the spoon down.)]

Jaina spent a long portion of her afternoon being conferenced in on Twin Suns' raid on Ylesia. She'd spent nearly half as long afterwards demanding answers for why it went wrong. It really was possible to be intimidating as a tiny little blue holographic figure yelling from an entire galaxy away, as it turned out.

When she finally turned everything off, she sank down on her bed, trying to calm herself down. It wasn't even anyone's fault. She couldn't even say that it would have gone any better if she'd been the one putting the operation together. It was like everything had just gone wrong at once. The intelligence was wrong, the plan was wrong, and there was simply a large combination of things that went wrong that meant that the Peace Brigade headquarters was still not destroyed. Didn't mean she wasn't going to be the one overseeing the next one.

In a way, she was almost grateful for the distraction. She'd had a pretty good vacation (there were a couple bits where she'd had issues but that resolved itself), but once she got back, it was back to reality. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't worried about two Tahiris now, and she'd trained herself to push everyone away so much that offering help almost felt alien now. At the same time, she couldn't not. And then there was the matter of needing to tell Ben about Jacen, which she could not be looking less forward to...

Work was easier. Too bad she'd run out of people to yell at.

Jaina wasn't really up on waiting around for her family in order to the leave the banquet she was too busy avoiding everyone at, so she and John made their escape early, when no one was looking to block the door all "Leaving so soon?"

So now it was just a matter of walking back to the apartment, trying to act like nothing was wrong when everyone'd spent the night reminding her of what was wrong.

[Omg you know who it's for. Because we like spamming your flists. Last day of it (for now), I swear.]

It was the middle of the night when Jaina's comlink started going off, and groggily she dragged herself out of bed. She was used to having to get up at weird hours to answer calls or go to work, but she didn't tend to have to worry about things like finding clothing in the dark before she answered a call from work.

So there might have been a muttered string of "Don't hang up don't hang up don't hang up," as she searched for and finally found something that was probably a shirt.

[For he whose room it iiiiiis, and probably post-radio.]
