Room 313, Monday afternoon
After class, Jaina made her way back to her room for what felt like the first time in forever, because she was kind of a brat about clinic stays and calling it "forever" was her way of internally whining about it. Besides, it kept her from thinking too hard about why she'd ended up in the clinic, along with about several other things she'd rather just avoid altogether. And she would be good and not spend all her time working, but that didn't mean she couldn't make transmissions home.
The second Kyp got one good look at her, his first question was, "What happened to you?"
"Nothing I want to talk about from a galaxy away," Jaina said honestly. "Which is what I wanted to talk to you about."
"Let me guess, you want to come back."
She paused before speaking, wanting to make sure she phrased it right. "I think I need a vacation from what you seem to think is my vacation. It's not helping anything, in fact I think this weekend did just the opposite of that."
Kyp frowned, studying her as hard as he could through the holotransmitter. "You're going to have to give me more than that."
Jaina sighed, refusing to wince when she did so. "I got attacked by a dark version of my dead twin. Yes, I'm serious, and yes, I know that needs more explanation, but that's about normal for this place."
"You've been holding out on me," he accused. "What happened to not holding back?"
"Yeah, well, I lied. Whether you think I'm ready to lead anything or not, just... My next step is going to be my dad and we all know how that'll go."
"That would be cheating," Kyp warned.
"It really would."
"I'll see what I can do," he promised.
After ending the call, Jaina went to the door just to crack it open, in case anyone was trying to be hovery, then laid down on her bed. Because no matter what she told anyone else... ow.
