Jaina wasn't sure whether she trying to focus on seeing John again to keep herself from obsessing over all her work, or if she was obsessing over work so it didn't seem to her like she was just focusing on seeing John again. Or maybe it was that her brain hadn't been able to mesh the two into the reality that she was going to have to obsess over work while being reunited with him.

Trying to keep in mind things like propriety and the fact that she was supposed to be a goddess and that his roommate probably wouldn't appreciate her hanging around either, when her shuttle had landed, she asked to have use of one of the conference rooms, and sent someone to bring John to meet her.

And now she was definitely obsessing over work so as not to be a huge teenage girl about it.

John had to work not to grin too much on the walk to the conference room. He shooed his guide away as soon as they got there, promising he was capable of announcing himself and slipped inside, shutting the door behind him.

As soon as she was able to sense him getting closer, Jaina was trying to keep the smile out of her face and stay focused. Which worked right up until the door slid open.

And then it was smiles and, "You look familiar."

"Must be your imagination," he replied, forcing himself to lean against the door. "I'm pretty sure I'm the only me in this universe."

"And I'm infinitely glad for that," she replied, standing. And noting his position, she added, "At ease."

"Yes, ma'am." He bit back his amusement, standing straighter and shooting her a salute before clasping his hands behind his back.

"I can't say I hate seeing that," Jaina admitted. "You can relax."

"And cross the room?" He'd move halfway toward her as soon as she gave any sign.

"That, too," she nodded.

He was already moving. "And greet you properly?"

"Which should really go without saying." And she was making sure that there'd be nothing furniture-like in between them when he got there.

"Sometimes it's nice to reiterate," he said, getting close enough to lean down and get his arms around her.

Technically this wasn't something she was supposed to be doing while still working. Jaina didn't care. She slid her arms around him in return and said, "So the greeting part...?"

"Oh hush," he said, making a face of annoyance and leaning to kiss it away.

She was still smiling as she kissed him, which made it very easy to hush, yes. "Much better," she murmured.

He kissed her again, murmuring, "Hi there."

"Hi," she said with another light kiss. "I might've said that already."

"I'm okay with that," John nodded, staying close. He'd missed the ability to be close, but that was a secret.

"How are you?" she asked, rubbing her hand lightly over his back. She'd missed the ability to do that.

"No complaints," he said. "You have a good flight over?"

"A lot of time spent on the comms," Jaina said. "It's been busy."

"I'd imagine," John replied, not wanting to ask just in case.

"Noooo, you really don't," she told him. "There's potentially some big stuff going on."

"So I'll pretend to imagine and wait for you to clue me in."

Jaina released him, thinking it wasn't as easy to talk shop while being cute at the same time. "We got some interesting intel about the whereabouts of the Vong Supreme Overlord," she said, dropping her voice a bit just in case. "If we can get to him, we might be able to end the war."

He was not going to get his hopes up. "Wow," okay, maybe a little.
