Happily, Jaina wasn't green today. She was her nice, normal color, which didn't change when she drank anything. She'd even dared to stop at the Perk before heading to her office today to work on class. And if it was a little depressing to realize just how few classes she still had left to plan, well she wasn't thinking about that right now.

And don't mind her occasionally checking to make sure her coffee was still coffee-colored before taking sips of it. She might just be doing that today.

Anakin wasn't normally around on Fridays, but he'd made an exception today to speak with Jaina.

"Leia's at home," he said quietly, looking slightly ashen despite his best attempts to appear normal.

Jaina was going to make a smartass comment, right until she actually looked up from what he was doing and saw his face. "Is that a bad thing?" she asked cautiously.

"She's going to intercept the Death Star plans," he said.

So yes.

Oh. Now she got it. "Aha," she said slowly. "I thought there'd be more time before that."

[sith_happened]

"Me too," Anakin said. "It would have been generous of the universe to let Bail see her graduate."

[solo_sword]

It was stranger than she would have thought, knowing what was happening, simply because she knew so many people whose lives had been affected by it. Leia, Winter, Tycho... There was something very surreal about it happening now.

"Does she have any idea what'll happen?" she wondered.

[sith_happened]

"Not from me," Anakin said, shaking his head.

[solo_sword]

Eek. "How are you handling this?" she asked. Because she knew what happened, and he was here on a Friday. She was willing to bet it wasn't just to warn her for the next time she saw Leia or something.

"Not great," he admitted. "It's kind of like waiting for a--" his lips twisted as he realized he'd been about to say "explosion" and decided not to finish the sentence. "She's going to hate me and doesn't have half of the reasons why she should."

[solo_sword]

"But she doesn't know it's you, right? It's Vader she's going to hate. Maybe by the time she gets to the big reveal, it'll soften the blow, or something." Or make it even worse. She honestly didn't know.

[sith_happened]

"Maybe," Anakin said. "I wouldn't count on it."

He was in one of those moods.

[solo_sword]

She wouldn't count on it, either, but.

"Is this a hug time?" she asked.

[sith_happened]

"I wouldn't say no to one," Anakin admitted.

[solo_sword]

She got up to head over and hug him tightly, reminding him, "She'll be okay."

She felt that was sort of important.

[sith_happened]

"You'll watch out for her?" he asked, clinging. "I have a feeling she won't really be talking to me for a while."

[solo_sword]

"I will," she promised, though she knew she wasn't around for much longer. "And remember, she keeps naming her kid after you all across the different realities, so she will move on from this."

[sith_happened]

Anakin's lips quirked up. "There is that. And he turns out a much better person than I've ever been in each version."

[solo_sword]

Jaina smiled tightly, noting, "He was kind of great," but she didn't want to dwell on that too much.

Though that did give her the chance to maybe lighten the mood a little. "You do realize she'll be meeting my dad," she pointed out.

[sith_happened]

"Yes," Anakin said with a good-natured eyeroll. "I suppose it's too much to hope she won't find him attractive this time?"

Though it would stop her dating people like Chuck Bass...

"My parents have been together thirty years now. I think it's way too much to hope that," she said, even grinning a little. "Maybe this time you'll like him."

[sith_happened]

"Maybe," Anakin said in the same tone he'd use if someone thought he'd also enjoy returning to Tatooine to open up a B&B.

[solo_sword]

"That doesn't sound too enthusiastic," she said, slightly teasing.

[sith_happened]

"It's Han Solo," Anakin said, wrinkling up his nose.

Oddly, this was making him feel better.

[solo_sword]

"Exactly. And without Han Solo, you don't get little me's running around several universes." She realized this was maybe not a selling point, but she was all for keeping things lighter.

"You think that two of you isn't enough?" Anakin teased. "Or four?"
