Somewhere in GFFA- Monday Fandom time

While last week's Portalocity email had maybe made Jaina a little paranoid, she'd talked to enough people since then to be reassured that at least she could talk to people. And then came today's email, with words like "have become almost impossible to contact" and there went all that reassurance. Nice going, Portalocity.

Luckily she was playing bodyguard for a diplomat right now, which wasn't exactly high-maintenance work most of the time, so she had more time to hang out by herself and make calls to people to make sure she could still get in touch with them.

That whole pushing people away thing was obviously going great.

Jaina paused. "I'm trying to imagine you hyper..."

"It was...different," Eric admitted. "These days I only move when I have to."

And then he moved.

"It's interesting, hearing about what you used to be like," she decided.

"And what was tiny Jaina like?" Eric asked. "I didn't want to ask Jacen."

[solo_sword]

"You might have seen him be normal if you had," she said. "Tiny Jaina had Jedi powers and very little supervision, so I was in trouble a lot. We'd go exploring secret tunnels or try building droids, or when I wasn't trying to give my parents gray hair I'd help with the ship. Kid stuff."

Eric burst out laughing. "I think I would have enjoyed tiny Jaina. I didn't seem to think gravity applied to me."

"Yeah, I think we'd have gotten along too well. The first year I turned little I went into the sewers to try and catch a gremlin to send to Jacen for his pet collection," she told him.

"How'd that work out for you?" Eric asked, sounding amused.

[solo_sword]

"I was completely disappointed when I couldn't find it again," she answered.

"It's probably better it turned out that way," Eric said after a moment, "unless you want me to find one and send it to Jacen now."

By "me" he meant "Joan", of course.

Poor, poor Joan.

"That's okay. Something tells me he wouldn't have the same appreciation for it as he would when he was six," she said. "Though I'm sure that would be a hugely entertaining story."

Gremlin hunting fell under "other duties as assigned", okay.

"Might get some of those Jedi to crack a smile," Eric wheedled.

"Are you wanting to hunt down a gremlin?" she checked.

"I haven't gotten to hunt much else recently," Eric replied.

And that's just sad.

"You do know eating the gremlin would be bad, right?" She was Concerned now.

It probably wouldn't get him post-fairy eating drunk, true.

"...yes?"

[solo_sword]

"Don't eat any gremlins," she told him seriously. "I don't even want to know what one of those would do to you."

"They're probably not that tasty anyway," Eric replied, "and sending your brother a dead gremlin is an entirely different sort of message."

[solo_sword]

"I should not laugh at that," Jaina said, a second after she laughed at that.

"Why not?" Eric asked. "It was funny."

[solo_sword]

"Because I'd like to think I'm nice to my brother," she said. "Or something. I don't think there's actually a reason."

"I promise not to tell him," Eric said a little dryly.

[solo_sword]

"Oh good, I was worried. With you two being besties and all now," she said just as dryly.

[texted3times]

"Was it the pillow fight that gave that away?" Eric asked.

Get that mental image out of your head if you can, Jaina.

"Thank you for that mental image. It's just what I needed in my life," Jaina frowned.
