Somewhere in GFFA- Monday Fandom time

While last week's Portalocity email had maybe made Jaina a little paranoid, she'd talked to enough people since then to be reassured that at least she could talk to people. And then came today's email, with words like "have become almost impossible to contact" and there went all that reassurance. Nice going, Portalocity.

Luckily she was playing bodyguard for a diplomat right now, which wasn't exactly high-maintenance work most of the time, so she had more time to hang out by herself and make calls to people to make sure she could still get in touch with them.

That whole pushing people away thing was obviously going great.

"Oh, really? So do you already own these hypothetical wigs or do you need to make a special trip?" she laughed.

"I carry them with me at all times in case I need to hide myself in a crowd."

Eric was a big fat liar.

"I hate to break it to you, but I think you'd still stand out." Being a fourteen feet tall and all.

"Because of my amazing good looks?"

[solo_sword]

"Sure, let's go with that," she teased.

"And because I'm really tall and also a vampire?" Eric tacked on.

"It's really just a giant package of standing out," she agreed.

"And you haven't even seen me in pink spandex."

Sadly, he really did own that.

There was a pause.

"Where did pink spandex come from?" she wondered.

"Gucci?"

No, not really, Eric.

[solo_sword]

"Have you actually worn pink spandex?" Jaina asked. Because all she could picture right now was Jessi's outfit, and clarification would be nice.

A very long pause.

"...yes?"

"I'm so afraid to ask why," she said.

"I had to see if it would fit," Eric replied.

[solo_sword]

"See, responses like that are why I need the Swedish word for 'brat,'" Jaina said. "And did it fit?"

"Oh, it was a showstopper."

Because really, a nineteen foot tall Viking in spandex was going to catch some eyes.

"I have so many questions. Was this an 80's thing?"

Everything Jaina knew about the 80's, she'd learned from VH1.

"Partially," Eric admitted. "Pam dared me to go to a costume party dressed as Olivia Newton John."

There was quite a bit of giggling on this end of the line now. "Oh, Pam is my new favorite person."

"Fortunately, this was a time before digital cameras," Eric replied.

[solo_sword]

That only made her ask, "Do you still have it?"

[texted3times]

"The spandex suit from thirty years ago? Don't be ridiculous."

Beat.

"I bought a newer one."

[solo_sword]

"Why?" Maybe the obvious question there...

"In case I need one for orgies or meeting the President."

Eric, please stop.

She totally thought he was kidding about the orgy thing, too.

"If you're rewearing anything inspired by an 80's costume party to either one of those eventa, I'm thinking it's a bad fashion choice."
