Somewhere in GFFA- Monday Fandom time

While last week's Portalocity email had maybe made Jaina a little paranoid, she'd talked to enough people since then to be reassured that at least she could talk to people. And then came today's email, with words like "have become almost impossible to contact" and there went all that reassurance. Nice going, Portalocity.

Luckily she was playing bodyguard for a diplomat right now, which wasn't exactly high-maintenance work most of the time, so she had more time to hang out by herself and make calls to people to make sure she could still get in touch with them.

That whole pushing people away thing was obviously going great.

"Once I get home from work," Eric promised. "I didn't exactly bring it with me."

"You have no idea how glad I am to hear that in this conversation," she said.

"You mean I didn't strike you as a spandexed vigilante out fighting crime?" Eric replied.

"Amazingly not, but that might be because you haven't mentioned a mask," Jaina replied.

"I wear my wig instead," Eric lied.

"You know you're only making me curious as to what you do for Halloween," she told him.

"This year, there was a cape and fangs," Eric said. "People tend to have expectations."

"Did you sparkle?" she teased.

Eric snorted. "I'm not Lafayette."

"That makes no sense to me, but I can confirm that no, you're not," she said slowly.

"Fry cook in Bon Temps," Eric said helpfully. Who also sold V for Eric, so that's why he remembered. "He's very, very gay."

"Aha. Then thank you for not sparkling that way because I think I'd miss out on a lot of stuff," she decided.

Eric chuckled. "Yes, you would."

"Not that I should be reminding myself of that while a galaxy away at three times the speed," she admitted.

"Dry spell already?" he teased.

[solo_sword]

"You say that like it's something new," she pointed out.

"I hear they sell devices to solve those sorts of problems...."

Eric, don't you dare send Joan into 'Dite's.

"I do not need devices," she said quickly. "It's fine over here without devices."

Considering she wasn't even comfortable showering while Zekk was awake when they spent so much time together...

"Then you'll just have to visit more often," Eric said. "I'll have a chat with Portalocity too."

Not that that would help, but leave the vampire his delusions.

She who yelled at Portalocity more than they probably even deserved... maybe... wasn't going to ruin any delusions there.

"You do that. And if they can get it together, I'll see when I can get back there."

"I'm looking forward to it," Eric said with a smile. "I'll take you for a ride in my red flying car."

Did it matter that she had to have ridden in a speeder maybe thousands of times by now? Nope. "You'd better," she grinned. "I'll talk to you soon, okay?"
