IX Serendipity Place- Friday morning

They'd gotten in early this morning, got set up in the housing Jaina was surprised was there but from a security standpoint worked really well, and now it was a matter of getting the things they'd need if they were going to be here for however long. Having come straight off a mission before everything happened, she had even less here, but the boys needed to not be cooped up and Jag needed to acclimate a little, so she sent them on a supply run in town while she did the paranoid stuff like sweeping for bugs and the like.

While she was doing that, she sent a text. Guess who's around for a while?

"You don't get to tell me who to worry about," Anakin said, smiling.

"I don't even know that they're after me," she assured? him.

[sith_happened]

"The three attempts," Anakin said, "were they places Jag was supposed to be, or both of you?"

[solo_sword]

"First was Jag and the boys, and I joined them early, second was just Jag, third was the safe house we went to after the first attempt," she said. "I don't think it's me, it would be incredibly stupid to come after me on my own."

It was a statement of fact. Jaina was scary.

Yes, she was, but in the most complimentary way. At least if you were Anakin, who was also scary.

"It would be," Anakin agreed. "Sounds like they're looking for Jag."

[solo_sword]

"Definitely him. Which we've sort of been prepared for," she admitted. It hadn't even been the first time. "Dax and Daniel, though... They're why we're here."

[sith_happened]

"It's another level, going after children," Anakin agreed, sounding deeply disapproving.

[solo_sword]

"Kidnapping attempts we at least know how to deal with," Jaina said. "They're not too rattled. Which is both a good thing and also worrying."

"Our lives," Anakin said, shaking his head.

[solo_sword]

"Between that and constant bodyguards they're having very normal lives," she sighed.

[sith_happened]

"Are the bodyguards coming too?" Anakin asked.

[solo_sword]

Jaina shook her head. "No one knows where Fandom is. I'm the bodyguard. But the Knights are working on it, and Jag's security people are doing their thing from their end."

[sith_happened]

"They're being investigated, too, right?" Anakin checked.

[solo_sword]

"I'm a hundred percent with Tahiri and Jag's main guy," she said. "They're handling it. It's more likely if there's a leak that it's from his people. It might not even be a person as much as technology somewhere."

[sith_happened]

Anakin nodded. "Rey's at Stark's on Sundays if you want to find some kind of anti-tracking device."

[solo_sword]

"We're actually covered there," Jaina told him, finally going for the coffee. "I worked it out during the Vong war, I just need to make a couple adjustments."

[sith_happened]

"Good," Anakin said with a smile. "They'd regret coming here deeply but I'd rather your attempted assassins not know about the island at all."

[solo_sword]

"Same," she nodded. "There are people I trust who can make some guesses, but they're not talking. We didn't say where we were going, there's no ship to track, no bugs on us, we don't have enough stuff with us for anyone to slip something in. We're good for now."

[sith_happened]

"Good," Anakin said, relaxing slightly. "You're welcome to stay as long as you need to. The kids will be thrilled to spend time with their--" he paused to figure out what the relationship was. "--grandnephews?"

[solo_sword]

Jaina had to pause as she checked that math.

"Yeah, oh that's weird," she said. "And they don't get a ton of time with other kids so I'm sure they'll love it."

"They can come down and watch the summer shenanigans," Anakin said. "It's fun."

Possibly only when you were Anakin.

[solo_sword]

"As long as they don't end up in it, right?" Jaina checked.

[sith_happened]

"I don't choose children," Anakin said.

[solo_sword]

"Okay, good. Because Daniel would try to keep up and it would be a mess," she said.

[sith_happened]

"It would be," Anakin said. "Sometimes chocolate pudding's involved."
