The Arms Hotel, room 504, Sunday evening

Jaina had headed over to the hotel, not having seen much of Kyp today and knowing he'd be leaving soon. And then she got him on the comm with Jag for a status check. For about half an hour.

As of now, she was sitting on the bed, watching as he packed what little he had. "So you see what I've been saying now."

"I do. I give you more credit for staying here this long," Kyp answered, zipping up his bag. "Now is this the part you ask when you can come home?"

"No," Jaina said, waving a hand vaguely. "I'm my own boss now, remember? Save for all those people who outrank me."

"Of course, Great One." Which he was glad for. He didn't regret sending her back here at all, but at times the calls had gotten to be a little much. "It doesn't seem like such a bad place, bizarreness aside."

She made a face, not entirely agreeing with him there. "It'll do for now," she said. "Turning into animals or six-year-olds is pretty distracting from the mess back home."

Jaina's cheeks colored, but she didn't acknowledge it other than a "Shut up. Are you going to check in when you get back to base?"

Jaina rolled her eyes, knowing he'd probably stand there all disbelieving till she told him. "I have a date," she admitted, "but it's not like there's a set time or anything, I'm not shooing you off."

Kyp wondered why he had the impression of small children suddenly, and decided he really didn't want to know Jaina's plans for the night.

"I can go, let you have your quality time," Kyp nodded, folding his arms. "On one condition."
