Room 313, Thursday afternoon

The good thing about having classes only at the first part of the week was that Jaina had time to go home without worrying about having to be back in time for anything. (Yes, she worried about things like that, but only because she was learning pertinent things, thank you.) The bad thing was that when she wasn't going home, it gave her more time to obsess over things she would be taking care of if she was.

This was why she was going over reports on her datapad, and if anyone passing by caught the occasional frustrated curse from inside the door as Jaina talked herself out of going down there right now and making better whatever she didn't like reading, well, that was why.

"Botched operation," Ben said as his entire Force-sense locked up tight. "I won't make the same mistake again. How was your time away?"

[solo_sword]

"It's been an up and down few weeks," she said, not prying. "Good mission- technically- followed by a bad mission, people getting impaled and then there were Ewoks."

[momslilassassin]

"People getting impaled?!"

[solo_sword]

"John got shot down during a raid," Jaina explained. "He's better now."

[momslilassassin]

Ben went pale.

[solo_sword]

"He's all right," she said quickly. "A couple days in a bacta tank and he was right back to getting into fights with Gavin. Good as new."

"You're sure?" Ben checked. Because Force knew he was lying about how okay he was.

[solo_sword]

"I swear to it," she said, holding up her hands. "He was even doing menial labor on Endor." Granted, he hadn't been a hundred percent there, but she hadn't known that at the time.

Ben remembered to breathe again. "Okay," he said. "I can go see him, though, right?"

[solo_sword]

"Of course. And I promise, if something really bad were to happen, I'd let you know."

Ben didn't echo that promise. "Good," he said instead. He was protecting her by not giving her gory details. "So you went to Endor, too, huh?"

[solo_sword]

She nodded, indicating that he could sit if he liked. "I'm sure I broke the time-space continuum by existing in a galaxy I don't exist in yet, but it was interesting. You already heard about it?"

"A little from Tahiri and Ender," Ben said, then smiled. "Ender on Endor. Heh."

[solo_sword]

"Nice," she smiled, mostly because it got him to smile. And the Ewoks liked the librarian who looks like Dad."

Ben giggled. "I hadn't even thought about that."

[solo_sword]

"If they made him a new hat, it was entirely my fault." She was very proud of that, too.

[momslilassassin]

"You don't seem all that broken up about it," he said.

[solo_sword]

"It was my entertainment during menial labor. I just wish I had holos," she said with a smile.

[momslilassassin]

"Wish I'd been there," Ben said. "My Endor wasn't nearly as interesting."

[solo_sword]

"What'd you do on yours?" she asked, though she wasn't sure she'd get an answer.

[momslilassassin]

"Moved into Dad's closet?" Ben replied with a tiny smile. "We've...relocated."

[solo_sword]

"You and Uncle Luke, or... everyone?" The first thing would shock her more, considering she wasn't far removed from Eclipse. Actually, relocating the Jedi would make sense.

[momslilassassin]

"Everyone," Ben said. "Quarters are a little cramped. I'm not living out a lifelong dream to be stuck in a closet or anything."

[solo_sword]

"Kind of sounds like a step down from the days of the sweat dens," Jaina said dryly. "Sorry about that."

Even if the move required her having to have been a complete badass.

Ben smiled. "We'll muddle through."

He was still kind of hover-y, not that he'd explain why.
