Ebaq 9, Tuesday Fandom time

Due to the heat and the radiation from the moon being set on fire, those on Ebaq 9 were going to be stranded there for a while. There were tents set up for them, complete with supplies and breathable air... and absolutely nothing to do.

While Jaina had slept for an embarrassingly long time when everything was over, not having work to do was really sort of bothering her. She'd take time to join in the meld with Tesar and Jacen to help Lowie heal, but even after realizing how close she really had come to just breaking back there, she couldn't shake the feeling that she was slacking.

At the moment she was sitting on a cot in the tent, watching the others, and coming to the further realization that yes, in fact, she was turning into her mother.

[FOR THAT BOY WH IS THERE. SEE I DID NOT POST IN CAPSLOCK.]

There was really only so long John could stand being cooped up with these people. He longed for a set of headphones and some peace and quiet.

Not that he didn't like the pilots. Or the Jedi. He was just bored and tired of not knowing what people were talking about.

Spotting Jaina staring, he got up and moved to sit by her. "Enjoying the view?"

"How come?" John wondered, eyebrow going up.

"Yeah, it's pretty boring," he agreed, feeling that rather acutely.

"You're not thinking of going looking for more of that excitement are you?" John wondered.

"It's sorta the logical conclusion when you're bored and disappointed by the comedown."

Call John floored. And maybe he didn't believe her either. "A break."

Okay, so he would agree that she'd seemed...more on the edge than previously. "Can I hide your comm?" It was like there could be no serious conversation with him around some days.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-03-18 12:39 pm (UTC)(link)
"And what are you planning to do those few days?" John asked, maybe testing her with his choice of words.

He moved to toss an arm around her shoulders for a little squeeze in pride that she wasn't planning anything. "Sleep's good, though I've got some work to make my place half decent again."

"Yeah, but at least the sheets weren't caked with dirt," John replied. Younger John would've loved intermittent gravity. Oh the games.

"At least I didn't have a tail," he teased. "And I didn't get in trouble this weekend for being dirty. That was amazing."

"Should I make you feel better about that?" He had a story he could share. Potentially.

"There was an incident with a mean little girl," John admitted. "And as...boisterous as I was as I child? I really wasn't much of a fighter."
