Mon Calamari, Friday Fandom time

Once Jacen, Luke and Mara left, it was time to start gearing up for their own departure. Jaina and the rest of Twin Suns would be headed with Han and Leia to Galantos, not that they knew that yet, and there was too much still left to do. On one hand, it was driving her crazy not to be doing it all right now. On the other, a good point of having a co-leader to the squadron now was that she couldn't feel too badly about taking a little bit of time for her boyfriend before he left. If giving up that little bit of control bothered her that much anyway, then she was just not going to be able to deal once she got back to Fandom, so it was best to get used to it now. That was her story and she was sticking to it.

She headed back towards John's quarters, knocking on the door, because she was polite like that.

"Come on in!" John called from where he was sprawled on his cot. It wasn't like he had anything to pack, he lived out of his duffel on these trips.

"Sorry, Your Worship, allow me to pay my respects," he said cheekily, getting up and moving toward her.

"Yes," he lied, bending down to give her a hug in greeting. Given how many weeks he went without that stuff, he was intent on sneaking it in when he could.

"And I thought you just had me," he teased with a little grin. "What's up now?"

"We should give him a lolly if he does a good job," John suggested, fond as ever.

"Did you give him a lolly then?" Oh John, be nice and stop scowling.

"This is me nice," he reminded her. "You wouldn't like mean." It involved shooting people.

"You don't know me so well as you think," he teased, knowing he could be mean. "Less work is good, but I don't have to like him."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Depends," he said, "are we pretending he doesn't exist or that I like him?"

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Who?"

It was fun to pretend.

"Me too. I'm betting your conversation was more interesting, though," he said, expecting something good if she was starting with 'so.'

"Good," he said slowly, half expecting more.

He moved toward his bed-thing to sit and hear this story. "How'd you freak him out?"
