Room 527, Saturday morning

Jaina was aware of one thing before she actually woke up, and that was that she wasn't alone. She was kind of cuddled up with someone else on a couch, and she wasn't complaining, because it was comfortable.

At least, she wasn't complaining until she realized she wasn't sure who this person was. That got her to open her eyes really fast to further realize that seeing who it was didn't help with the recognition thing. At least he was cute?

She picked her head up from his shoulder, looking around at the room. She wasn't sure where she was, either. Immediately she began a mental check, making sure she didn't feel drunk or hungover. She'd never been either, but still, it important to know for sure. And then she started checking her own head for bumps.

"I guess so," she said, standing again. "Maybe I work as a mechanic."

"It looks that way," he said. "I wonder where your roommate is, considering you weren't in here last night."

"Not sure. Doesn't feel right, rooting through her things to find out who she- assuming again- is, either."

"Yeah," he agreed. "What are you thinking next?" He was thinking they should lay low, but was interested in her thoughts.

"If there's a way to find out who else- if anyone- is affected by this, then at least we're on to something. Otherwise, keep our heads down till we know anything for sure," Jaina said.

"That sounds like an excellent plan," and what he wanted to do anyway. "Your place or mine?"

"Yours," she said. "One of us might trip on spare parts and die in here."

"I don't know, it could be a really good hiding place if we were made of metal," he smiled.

Jaina examined her own hand. "I think we're out of luck there," she decided.

"That was a joke," at least he'd thought it was.

Apparently her sense of humor had disappeared along with her memory. "I figured," she said. No, she hadn't. "Want to be going?"

"After you," he couldn't help the urge to be gentlemanly. Even though there could possibly be an attack going on for all he knew. Apparently he wasn't that worried.

Making sure she still had her key on her, Jaina stepped past him into the hall to start back to 527.
