RAF Mildenhall, UK- Sunday Fandom time

The biggest downside to Jaina's current travel schedule wasn't the time differential. It was that she was going from December in Maryland to May in England back to December in Maryland back to June in England, and it was really kriffing difficult to pack accordingly for that.

Which was probably a factor in how she'd just been feeling a little rundown the first day or two she was at John's and just chalked it up to time lag. By the time the sore throat and stuffy-headed feeling came around, though, she had to accept that she was sick. Not that she wanted to admit it, though, even as she curled up on the sofa not wanting to move and reminding herself that she was a badass who did not need a healing trace for a cold, no matter how annoying it was.

[Yes, another post. Happy holidays, Tracy! :D For the boy!]

Lucky for Jaina, John was not stupid and could tell she wasn't feeling quite herself. To fix this, he went with an age-old tradition and brought her a mug of hot soup. He'd made it all by himself according to the can, yes.

"Here," he said, holding it out and ignoring that there had been no request on her part.

"Ran out of popcorn," John covered, standing up straight and glancing at the TV. "And today's marathon day." It was as good an excuse as any to keep her indoors and resting without coming out and saying it.

"The Ring of Doom," he answered, futzing with some DVDs and setting things up. "It may require the creation of a fort."

"Hey, these aren't just any movies," he warned. "Do you know anything about building forts?"

"No, more like fashioning blankets and pillows into a the perfect cocoon for movie-watching," he explained.

"I learned from the best," John told her, dragging a chair closer to the sofa and setting the cushions on end. "You gotta have the right angle and then the blankets drape over top."

Well, he'd done it before, so yes. John grabbed a blanket from the back of the chair and offered it to her. "It sometimes works out that way, I guess."

"Then there's no point denying it, right?" He snagged one of the ends and pulled it over the back of the sofa. "Put your end over the standing cushion there," he instructed.

He pulled the blanket taut and secured it on his end. "Now you can shove some pillows under there and get cozy on the sofa in a virtual tent of blankets. Pretty sweet digs."

"You have an unhealthy relationship with those pillows," he replied, eyebrow lifting in judgment.

"You just don't pick stuff," he called after her, peering inside to make sure their work was going to hold up.

"No, what I'm saying is you don't pick stuff, you steal mine."

"Don't you have a holiday coming up? Maybe I should gift you sets of your own," he said. "But for now you get to stay in there. And drink your soup."
