The garage and elsewhere- Saturday afternoon

Since John got into town, it'd be lying to say Jaina had been a little worried about him. Really, it'd be lying to say she wasn't worried before that. But even if he seemed fine, she thought she knew him well enough to not buy into it. So she was taking advantage of the weather and surprising him. After all, the bike down here was still his, still nicely maintained which happened when you left it in the care of a mechanic, and it'd be a shame not to use it.

He'd probably have some idea of where they were going if he remembered the way down here, but it wasn't till they got inside that she asked teasingly, "Think you still remember how to ride one of these, or should I put the clinic on alert?"

[For the bike owner!]

John had followed along, not really thinking much at all if he could help it. But the sight of his swoop bike brought back a whole slew of memories.

"I don't know about me," he said slowly, a grin spreading over his face. "But we'll need the clinic if you drive."

"I seem to remember someone not me trying to break the sound barrier through town," John teased.

"I don't remember you driving, either," John answered sweetly. Just her trying to make him go faster.

"Actually," John said, thinking rationally about how he didn't really know if he remembered the bike or the town well enough to get them anywhere that wasn't through a rickshaw. "Why don't you?"

"Is the medical attention still near the bar?" John wondered. "Because then maybe it'd work out."

"This is your town," John reminded her. "I'm just the passenger."

"Or at least if we crash, the water'll let us float," he agreed.

John caught the helmet and made a face at it before sticking it on his head. "That's what she said."

It seemed John never got away from aliens that didn't understand him. "Get on the bike," he suggested.

He settled in, wrapping his arms around her waist - and wasn't that a happy benefit? - and looking over her shoulder. "Nah, I might miss the view."

"Guess there's not much new to see," he reasoned, no matter how weird that was. "Though, sand is always good."

He nodded, watching the scenery zip by, really wanting to toss the helmet and feel the force of the wind the swoop bike was creating.

It was a good outing idea.

He would have preferred doing ninety down the streets, but he wasn't going to complain too much. "This is supposed to be pretty?" He'd been a little spoiled lately with the pretty, maybe.
