May was turning out to be Jaina's most bizarre month ever. After fun with baggage yesterday, today she woke up to something licking her face. To her surprise, she now had two small, adorable puppies bounding all over her bed, yipping cutely so she would wake up and play with them. After training it became clear that they weren't just students, or strays that had attached themselves to her. No, they were determined to stay with her at all times, never getting in her way, just being generally cute. And she had to admit, even though today was maybe only the second time she'd talked to Jag since the end of the war, there was something about the puppies trying to lick and nudge his little blue holographic form that had put a smile on her face, yes.

But that wasn't all. It seemed that no matter what the weather, even indoors, there was sunlight localized somewhere above Jaina, glinting off her hair and giving her a healthy glow. She had no idea what was going on, but at least it wasn't traumatic.

Currently she'd set the puppies, who she was calling Cappie and Sparky for the duration of however long they were stalking her, playing tug of war over an old boot, and sat in the living room of the cabin to watch with a sandwich and a soda. When she opened the soda, though, she was further surprised to see a rainbow sprout out of it.

Yeah, something was weird here.

[Um, so the spoilers that got Jaina grounded for four days? Were not only not that bad in context, but she deserves hugs. So as penance, just for the weekend, she is getting sunshine and puppies (who are just so very happy to see new friends) and every other nice thing I can think of.

Chuck shuffled into the living room just in time to see the magical rainbow soda. "What the hell was that?"

"I don't know. A rainbow, I think," Jaina admitted, frowning at the can. "Do you think it's still safe to drink?"

Chuck thought about that for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, I think rainbows are fairly safe for consumption."

Jaina paused. "Never thought I'd hear those words spoken," she said.

The puppies, meanwhile, had realized there was a new person that they just had to meet, and they abandoned the boot in order to run to Chuck and say hi. Adorably.

Even Chuck Bass couldn't resist puppies. "Awwwww!"

Yes, he aww'd them.

And then he crouched down to pet them. "Are these yours?"

"I'm not sure. They woke me up this morning and haven't left me alone since, so I'm thinking they're at least with me for now," she said, watching Cappie the Shiba Inu try to lick Chuck's hand.

"See, why can't awesome stuff like this happen to me?" Chuck asked, smiling as he let the puppy lick his hand. "I just get attacked by luggage."

"Oh, I had that too," she assured him. "I've also been trapped in my room for four days, so it's about time Fandom gave me something that didn't irritate me."

And there was Cappie the golden retriever getting on his little hind legs to paw Chuck's leg.

"I see your point," Chuck said. He tried to give both puppies attention, but was finding it to be a difficult task. "Wow, you guys are affectionate."

They both yipped at him, as if saying yes, yes they were.

"Welcome to my world," Jaina said, sipping her rainbow Coke. "And yet they're not annoying about it. It's very weird."

"I guess I should get used to it. I'm supposed to be getting a kitten soon," Chuck said. He lifted an eyebrow. "Is that soda magically delicious?"

"It's Coke. I have yet to keel over or develop magical powers," Jaina considered. "You're getting a kitten?"

"Yeah, Castiel's cat just had a litter and I'm required to take one," Chuck said. "Apparently some people need a kitten-y excuse to visit me after I leave."

"Here I never pictured you as a pet-owner," she said, right as Cappie fell over onto Sparky, thus starting a playful little wrestling match.

"I have a monkey, actually," Chuck said as he watched the adorable puppy fight. "And I mean that in a totally not dirty way."

Jaina looked up from the puppy fight to glance at him. "You have a monkey? Why?"

"It was a gift from a girl I used to see," he said. 'See' was an extremely loose term for what he and Georgina had. "I got her out of some legal trouble and she rewarded me with a monkey. She was very eccentric."

"Sounds like. Do you have it here?" she wondered.

"I used to, but I sent him back home to drive my father crazy," Chuck said, smiling a little. "I did have him around long enough to see him turn into a human. That was...interesting."

"See, that right there is why I'm glad I don't have pets," Jaina told him.

As if on cue, one of the puppies barked.

Chuck looked down at the puppies. "I think they disagree."

"They can't really be my pets," Jaina protested. "I killed John's fish in about a week."

"How did you manage to kill a fish?" Chuck asked.

"I forgot it was there and so it never got fed?" Yeah, she sort of felt worse about it than John had.

"Woooooooow," Chuck said slowly. "Okay, no forgetting to feed the cute puppies."

"It's not like it could tell me it was hungry," she protested.
