Room 313, Sunday evening
While everyone else was busy reuniting with old friends, Jaina had stayed pretty low-key this weekend. She'd had a really good time, though, and she loved actually having a formal event she had absolutely no reason to complain about. It was a new experience.
She'd decided to go out and be social, and she was on her way out the door when she heard her comlink trill. Considering the only people that tended to call her were the ones back home, she stopped at the door, just in case this was something that should be handled in private.
"Jaina," she answered.
"Sound more excited when you answer next time."
He sounded okay, so Jaina relaxed, smiling instead of worrying. "Hi, Dad. Calling to check in?"
"Something like that," Han said. "Have to make sure you haven't taken over the town by now, or blown anything up."
"Not yet, but maybe the next time we talk," she grinned.
"As long as there's something left to visit."
Jaina paused. "You're coming to visit?"
"You mentioned that Parents' Weekend thing," he said. "Last I checked, I was a parent."
"You're really coming to visit?" she repeated, more excited this time.
"My answer hasn't changed in the last five seconds. Well, unless that time difference thing gets us. Mara's insisting we're taking her ship. I don't see this ending well."
That part surprised her. If there was anyone who should come, she knew it should be Mara, but her health really should come first. "She's okay enough to come out here?"
Han paused. "Things have changed a little. She'll explain in person."
She was a little on the thrilled side, yes. She had always gotten along with her father, and since the war started and Chewbacca died, she hadn't seen him nearly enough, and she definitely hadn't seen him happy. She didn't even have to ask if Leia was coming along, because she knew the answer to that, if he was. She just had to hope that the other version of her didn't show for Luke-
Ohhhh, that had the potential to be bad. So did a lot of other things. Yeah, there was a reason she'd said that she kind of hoped everyone stayed away, and that was because the potential for broken brains was so bad that she'd kept quiet about most of it. There were a lot of things she had to explain to a lot of people before then.
Jaina closed her door and took a seat on her bed. "Okay, Dad? Before you visit, there are some things I should explain..."
[Will be a linkdrop. Door's closed, but the post is totally open post-call.]
