Room 313, early Monday morning

Jaina had stayed in her room last night, not wanting to chance any more discomfort in the cabins, though she hadn't done much in the way of sleeping. At least it had nothing to do with nightmares, right? She had class this morning, and she couldn't help but make one certain call before going, not sure whether it would make her feel better or worse.

As soon as Kyp's image came up, he greeted her with, "By my estimation, you're calling me about every day your time."

"So? I have a feeling if I'm not begging you to let me come back, you're never going to let me," Jaina countered.

"Is that what you're doing now?"

"My last reason for staying here already thinks I've checked out," she admitted. And the truth was, if John ended up breaking up with her, which she was pretty sure would happen sooner than later, this was the last place she wanted to be. "This is just punishment at this point."

"It's not punishment, Jaina. You're supposed to be dealing with things."

"Yeah, well, instead it's just getting worse."

Kyp ignored her. "And even if it was punishment, you didn't really do anything all that bad, relatively speaking. I mean, when I was your age I was trying to come back from blowing up a planet, and I managed to do it," he said. "But if you don't think you can."

Jaina scowled at him, hating the part of her that immediately wanted to rise to that little challenge. "I hate you some days, Kyp."

"I think that means I'm doing my job right," he said, smiling before ending the transmission.

She sighed, though she hadn't really expected him to say yes anyway. Though if he had, she could just take off and everyone who was worried about her just wouldn't have to deal with that little issue anymore. Still frowning, she put the conversation behind her and started getting ready for class.
