Room 313, Monday afternoon

After classes, Jaina came back upstairs, closing her closet door against a pair of talking boots- talk about unethical treatment some more now- and decided she just had to go ahead and make the call home. It might be the weirdest question ever, but she'd volunteered to have it and really, this was something she might as well talk about anyway. Back to real life and all.

Besides, the look on her uncle's face when she explained that she needed to know a wedding ceremony- not for her- but so that he could officiate the marriage of his father to his 19-year-old girlfriend was pretty classic.

"You would knock me unconscious and save me from the embarrassment of whatever it wanted me to do, right?" John asked, worried.

"Of course," she said, but there was a pause before it.

Another pause. "I'd have to at least see what it was you thought you were first," she admitted.

John stared. "Then I can only hope it makes me do something you find horrifically embarrassing."

"Okay, now turn that around; if I got bit, what would you do?" she countered.

"Pray it made you sing," he grinned.

"You're still stuck on that, huh?"

"It's been months," he pointed out. "And I've never heard you."

"That just means you're lucky," she assured him.

"You heard my scary singing," he reminded her. "It's only fair."

"I like you too much, I couldn't possibly do that to you."

"I'm never going to change your mind on this, am I?"

"You might have to wait until Fandom makes me do it," Jaina nodded. "It's for your own good, I swear."

"My bugging you could always wear you down," he replied.

"I think you underestimate my stubbornness," she said.

Jaina pretended to consider this. "Or not..."

"Oh?" she asked, studying him.

"I'm trying to decide what hearing you sing could be worth giving up."

"Not much, trust me," she said.
