The fact was, Jaina was disturbingly used to spending long stretches of time closed off somewhere with no food or showers while things tried to kill/hurt her. None of that was actually bothering her. She was bothered by things she'd seen in a couple rooms, but she was repressing that by being sort of vaguely worried about her grandfather without exactly knowing why.

But none of that was why there wasn't class today. It was just that once Jaina realized what day it was (why did it feel like Tuesday?), she'd already missed her shift at one job and it was too late to come up with something for today's class with how exhausted she was. Besides, she was sure a lot of people were still either hiding out or passed out. So she sent an email this morning telling her students that class was canceled, but that she'd be in her office if anyone needed her or wanted handwavy private flight shed time. What, shooting could be cathartic.

So she was in her office with coffee, going through messages from home. She could go weeks at a time without being able to contact her family, so they hadn't even noticed she was gone... at least not on their own. Jag had noticed, though, and he'd contacted her parents yesterday, and now she had worried messages from more than a few people. Hopefully 'There was a Fandom thing, I'll explain later' was an acceptable explanation for now...

After getting vague and disturbing notes from the squirrels, Ben had been trying to call people back in Fandom since Friday.

Maybe this time he'd get lucky?

And now when Jaina got calls, she knew just to pick up because yeah, they'd probably been trying to call for a while. "Solo."

"There you are," Ben said, sounding relieved. "The squirrels came and found me on Friday because they were out of people or something?"

[solo_sword]

"Ahh. Yeah, there was a slight mass kidnapping," Jaina said, and added quickly, "It's fine now."

[momslilassassin]

"A slight mass kidnapping?" Ben repeated.

[solo_sword]

"Seems like most of the town got taken," she said. "We just got back yesterday."

"Where did you get taken to?" Ben asked.

[solo_sword]

"I'm not entirely sure," she admitted. "Some dungeon somewhere. We got split into groups and didn't have anything, so the only way to get food and supplies was to go through doors full of things that wanted you dead. No one dying stuck, apparently, by the way."

"That's kind of handy," Ben admitted. "Did you not-die?"

[solo_sword]

"It's me," she said, because really.

Making her the only relative who hadn't tried, so he worried.

"Just checking."

[solo_sword]

"I got through totally fine," she assured him. Well, totally fine for her. "I still don't know what actually happened, but it looks pretty over."

"Everyone okay?" Ben asked, then added, "For given Fandom value of okay?"

[solo_sword]

"Seems like. I think today's meant for catching up on sleep and food and then everyone gets to dealing with new trauma," she said. "It was pretty rough."

"What was it like?" Ben asked, sounding worried.

[solo_sword]

"We were taken in our sleep, so all we had was what we slept in or with. There were a few groups of us, all separated, and when you tried to leave you ended up in a maze where every door led to something that usually wanted you dead. At least some of it was stuff we dealt with here before," she said. "It changed all the time, so you'd get zombies or baggage or angels depending on the day."

"Sounds like a real vacation," Ben said dryly. "Baggage?"

[solo_sword]

"Literal baggage. Suitcases with your issues written on them, which would fall and I suspect aim for your head," she explained.

"How many people got crushed?" Ben asked. "I mean, I've met Fandom kids."

[solo_sword]

"None that I know of, but I didn't know most if the people who were there until it was over," she said. "I think some people were using the bags as weapons at the end there, so way to own their issues."

[momslilassassin]

Ben laughed. "I bet one labeled 'family expectations' could be pretty heavy."

[solo_sword]

"Probably. I didn't see that one." Apparently killing a Sith when no one else could added some issues while taking away others.

"I think my bag's probably gotten smaller in the last few years," Ben mused.

[solo_sword]

"I'd guess so. That tends to happen the more you grow up," Jaina said. "It has to shrink to accommodate a bunch of new issues then."

"Something to look forward to," Ben said dryly.
