A bridal shop on the mainland- Sunday after the brunch

Next on the list of Things Jaina Never Thought She'd Actually Do: shopping for a wedding dress. It was probably early, considering there was no idea of a date yet, but she'd rather get this over with in case it came down to everything happening kind of fast. Plus, when the Jedi were currently being kind of terrible with their suggestions that she rethink her priorities and that maybe she couldn't be a Jedi and marry the Imperial Head of State, then kriff them, she was getting her karking wedding dress. It sucked that her mother wasn't even talking to her to be here, too, but at least Jaina did have actual support with her.

"It's going to be so weird to wear one of these when it's not just the island being insane," Jaina said as they stepped inside. There was a freakish amount of white in here, seriously. "Or when I'm not marrying a guy for his contributions to the Skywalker diamond mine."

[Seriously people are the worst to Jaina in this series. NFI, and for her shopping partners!\

"Yeah. I remember," Tahiri said quietly; she'd never be able to forget how much Anakin had been torn up by that ongoing tension with Han. She apparently agreed with Jaina's narrative when she added, "You'd think he'd have figured out not to do that by now. Stang, if I have to tell him that myself, I'll do it."

"It does usually seem to work out," Rory offered quietly, not having a whole lot to contribute since she'd never met the elder Mr. Solo. Or, at least, not in a decade, and not in the context of, 'Someday I'm going to be his stepmother-in-law.' So not so much with the counting.

"Do you want to think about trying stuff on?" She frowned, holding out another dress and critically eyeing it against Jaina. "I think hemming's going to be a thing no matter what, so we'll just have to keep that in mind."

Because you were tiny, Jaina. So tiny.

"Nah, but the silhouette's right," Rory said agreeably, putting that one back and rummaging around for something a little less lacy. "And it's okay. Being tallish comes with its own issues."

Like being uncomfortable on planes! And other totally real problems!

"So I've heard." Look how Tahiri was going to be all nice and not rub it in about how she'd gotten taller than Jaina. "Definitely less lace, but I think something in that style would look great."

"Love the sleeves, and it looks like it would allow kicking."

Maybe it wasn't a huge shock that Jaina wasn't a big lace person, with that sort of criteria in mind?

"I have definitely spent too much time living on mudball planets," Tahiri said slowly, shaking her head, "because my first thought was to worry about a white dress trailing on the ground. My second thought was that it looks like it would hold up pretty well if it does come to kicking, though, so I got over the first thought pretty quickly."

"Remember how hemming's a thing!" Rory reminded them, smiling. "We could probably get it altered to avoid dirt or whatever, too, depending on where this little destination wedding of yours is taking place."

"Why do I have a feeling the Core is going to be right out as an option?" asked Tahiri. "Unless you want the whole thing to be in disguise. Actually, you could have a whole covert operation theme, with all the guests showing up under assumed identities . . ."

Luckily she was joking, but still, Tahiri, no.

Tahiri didn't wince or swear under her breath or anything, but her eyes did widen as if to say she hadn't thought of that possibility.

"Oh," she said, blinking a few times. "Right. That, um. Wow."

Yes, she could absolutely imagine Han's reaction.
