Apartment in Palo Alto- Tuesday Fandom time

For as much as Jaina was still kind of missing a certain little boy (and his siblings, shh), it was nice to get back to something a little more normal, even if it was entirely abnormal to others. But then again, how many of them got to celebrate a two year anniversary for six days? Technically speaking, between her sped-up time and his sped-up time, it had been much longer than just two years, which was why the Fandom date was the one that really counted: there was really no other way to work out the time. Might as well go the easy way.

Tonight Jaina had gone the simple route. When John got home, he'd find dinner was ready- takeout, but it was on actual plates so it was like she cooked- and music playing, and a girlfriend who probably shouldn't have put this out as early as she did, because it gave her free time to realize that "It's a Small World" was still in her head.

[I totally modded the boy. Mwahahahahaha.]

"Hey!" John smelled actual food when he returned. ...And music.

...And there was no roommate standing in the kitchen asking Jaina her opinion on who was hotter in some magazine.

"Are we actually alone in the apartment?"

"You are magical," John decided reaching out to give her a thankful hug.

"But then you'd start to expect it and then I'd really be in trouble," he answered, smiling down at her.

"And here I always figured those kids implied I was your househusband," John teased. It was sort of creepy to hear her say dear.

"Nothing to worry about," he shrugged. "However it is, it works out for them."

He gave her a look that said now she sort of had him wondering about a few things, but he tried to shake it off and move on. "So, what'd you cook today? It smells good."

"You really do love me," he grinned, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Not that your cooking is bad."

"When am I not?" John teased. Even as thin as he was, the boy never turned down food. "Especially Chinese." Good memories.

"You did slave," he commented, taking his seat and smelling the wonderful food. "Leaving the apartment is hard."

"I leave all the time. You should text me your orders," he pointed out, beginning to happily consume his dinner.

"It's been a year, I think I can handle a little extra danger." It was July again. So strange.

"Just wait till it's homecoming and I'm nearing our fourth," he said. Because that was just weirder.

"You'd better be there with me," he warned. "Or there's really no point."
