MCA #6- Friday afternoon through evening

Jaina had had a good night that turned into a weird night that turned into a really rough morning involving a monster hangover.

Come afternoon, sleep, water, food and a few Jedi techniques had left her feeling fine except for some residual fuzzy-headedness and a slight headache, but it wasn't anything she couldn't deal with. Oh, and there was some embarrassment. She might not remember everything, exactly, but she remembered the important stuff and that was what mattered.

She was trying to ignore it in order to pack for her trip home, sticking to the essentials she'd need for a week Fandom time, and making calls to a few people to let them know she was going and that she'd be around till tonight. And she might have checked to make sure her comlink was packed about a dozen times already. Call her paranoid about leaving Anakin's messages behind.

[This is Jaina's last post in Fandom for a little while, not that she knows it yet. So, post is completely open, and if you want to be the recipient of one of Jaina's calls to come see her off, then she totally called you.
P.S. I can't help it, I just love giving her hangovers.]

As much as John refused goodbyes because that meant there was a chance of never seeing a person again, when he got the call asking for one, he couldn't just ignore it. Not from Jaina.

So there he was, knocking on her door and trying not to remember the first time he'd ever done this.

John took a step inside and glanced down at her curiously. "You didn't think you'd see me after you left a message? Gee, Jaina, I didn't know I was such a jerk." And here he hadn't even considered not showing up.

There was clearly something wrong with him.

"Hey, who said I was gonna say goodbye?" John pointed out. "Maybe I just wanted to wish you luck and offer a hand to carry your bag."

Considering she was the one who called, she'd have to tell him the answer to that.

"Was there another reason you wanted me to stop by?" John asked, closing the door for her and having a nice lean against it.

John chuckled, holding out a hand to her. "What's not fair?" She could come tell him herself.

"Hey, I have a hard time with role-play," he admitted, looking apologetic as he pulled her closer. "But I can give it a try." So long as she didn't ask him to be Chuck. Ew.

It was probably really dumb to lean closer and reach out to push some hair away from her face. "That does make me feel better, if only because no one needs to see my terrible acting skills." Not since that incident on PX-392.

It sucked that she was still beautiful and he couldn't help sliding his fingers over the side of her face and marveling at how all his years changed nothing for her. "Right, because you'd be grabbing my ass," John teased, trying to distract away from the look he couldn't shake from his eyes.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2010-07-24 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
He opened his palm in response to her touch, working to spread her fingers against his. "Not after all the work I've put into keeping it," John teased. Being fit was part of the job, having a nice ass was just a bonus.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2010-07-24 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe not," he agreed with a smile, "but it's better than noticing fine lines or sudden gray hairs."

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2010-07-24 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
"So we're calling it character now?" John laughed, ducking his head a little. Again, he needed to distract away from that place where he was too...something. "Is it just me, or does your hand feel smaller?"

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2010-07-24 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, I've had years to get confused, so if you did know I'd take your word for it," he told her, linking his fingers with hers. "Now, just pretend that made sense, okay?"

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2010-07-24 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey, I can be very nice," John reminded her as she kissed his hand, thinking that could be a good distraction. "Care to let me remind you?" And if he was bending and kissing her neck, she couldn't really blame him for starting it.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2010-07-24 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
"Actually, I believe the generally accepted reply is 'Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!'" John replied, pulling back slightly to more easily affect a terrible higher tone for the role of the girl.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2010-07-24 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
John was almost disappointed she hadn't smacked some part of him for that terrible joke. "I think you just gave me a goal," he teased, his hand slipping down her side.

[identity profile] missed-the-gate.livejournal.com 2010-07-24 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh yeah, good goal," John confirmed, giving her hand a squeeze and turning so she was the one with her back against the door and he was leaning down nice and close.

Some things never changed. "I always do," John pointed out, moving to meet her lips. At this point they could say neither of their apartments were safe from something getting started.

A smarter man would think this was going to be a problem.
