Office hours- Monday

Jaina would have never figured that her first real office would be the one she had as a teacher at Fandom High. Nothing about it made any sense to her. Yet here she was.

She figured no one would be coming in on a holiday, so she wasn't too hard on herself for coming in later than planned when her training ran long. (Trust her, there were reasons for training to run long this morning.) Leaving the door open, she sat behind the desk, trying to get everything set up the way she wanted it.

You don't want to know how long it took her to get her chair to the right height. It was a little embarrassing.

Please, like she hadn't been trying to start something with that. "There's a bottom for a reason."

John's gaze narrowed on her. "You don't."

"Because I made the mistake of showing you it bothered me," he answered, just a little self importantly.

Just for that, John reached out to right the stapler again.

"When I leave you can fix your things," he suggested.

"It sounds bad when you say it," he complained, knocking the stapler back over and leaning his hip against her desk in defeat.

Way to make the triumphant smile return to his face. "Have I mentioned you look very official behind that desk?"

"Did you grow since last night?" John asked, noting the tall part again.

Considering he was leaning against the desk as he would any other, John figured it wasn't the desk making her look so tall. "Nothing. Just thinking out loud."

"I'm not allowed to make observations?" John asked, feigning offense with a hand over his heart. "You wound me, Jaina."

"Does your chair roll?" It was an innocent question. "Mine rocked more than rolled."

"Did you set yours up to rock?" he inquired, tiny smirk at the thought of her rocking the chair.

"Oh, nothing," he shrugged. "It's weird to think you, a leader among your people, are entertained by the movement of a desk chair." Now John's amusement, that was expected.
