Room 527, Tuesday morning

Jaina woke to a few thoughts in her head even in those first few seconds when you rightfully shouldn't be able to think of anything:

1. She had to get up and make her usual checkup calls back home and see what she'd been sent overnight.
2. She had class to go to.
3. She had enough time that she could spend a little while longer snuggled up to her boyfriend, all warm and comfortable.

Focusing on the third option for now, she slung her arm over him, pulling herself closer just because she could.

"It's been a confusing morning," Jaina said. "Think that means we can be normal now?"

"Yes, we should have sex." Blunt much?

"It would shut us up," she reasoned.

"Or at least distract us from talking about anything serious for a while," he added. "But there's always the chance we'll just be oddly talkative about the sex."

"And while we have had sex talks before, we've never exactly gotten into specifics," Jaina said. "Though either way it would keep me away from the comm which I can't use today if I'm going to be like this, which may have me twitching in about an hour otherwise."

John blinked down at her. "When you say specifics you mean..."

"At this point I'd be worried that we'd be giving each other running commentary," she explained. "The bonus is usually we can't manage words."

There may have been some blushing.

"I like it when you can't manage words," he told her. "It's hot to think I have anything to do with it and I'm gonna stop talking now, thanks."

"But I like knowing what's hot so I can do it more," Jaina said, and now she was facepalming.

"Well, it's really hot when you get all controlling like when you order me around at work." The words tumbled out rapid-fire.

She raised her eyebrows. "You're thinking about that at work?"

"I think about it all the time, oh shit."

"I feel like this shouldn't surprise me," she said, "but I'm still not used to anyone thinking of me like that. All the time."

"Yeah, I figured you'd say something like that. But I'm not the only one who thinks about you like that all the time, it's why I really don't like your friend the pop star," he added.

"Yeah, I know, but it's okay because he missed his chance." And now there was rubbing of the temples...

"When did that jackass have a chance?" John asked incredulously.

"He's not a jackass," Jaina said. "And I was fourteen, I barely knew what hormones were yet. Now I definitely do."

"Good, because if it was this summer I'd fly out there and shoot him. Screw his Force abilities." See, she didn't need to hear these thoughts.

No, she probably didn't. "You have nothing to worry about from Zekk, and I don't like when you get possessive, because it's for no reason."

"No reason? Yeah, I don't understand that at all." Where were his happy white lies?

"I'm not the type of girl to act on something like that," she said, frowning.

"I didn't say you were gonna cheat on me," John pointed out. "It doesn't really have anything to do with you. It's about other people having no respect for the fact that you and I are together and even considering trying something."

"No one's tried anything," Jaina said. "Jag's the only one who came close and he didn't really do anything and he backed off when I said to." She had told him about that, right? She was pretty sure she had. "I liked the sex talk better."

"When the hell did that happen? I so knew that guy was after you!" No, she'd left that out.

"Borleias. He wanted to know why I saved him like I did. It was not for any reasons like he was thinking," she said, again with the frown. "All he did was ask."
