Room 313, Thursday evening

Jaina had spent a good part of her time after classes either in the junkyard, collecting parts, or in the garage, adding them to the hoverboard, which still wasn't entirely at the hovering stage yet. Maybe she wasn't as up on how repulsors worked as she thought she was. Which was why she was trying to call Anakin (the brother, not the grandfather), but she still wasn't getting an answer.

"Next time I go to a strange planet, I'm making sure it's in a decent time zone," she muttered.

[Door's open, as is post. I demand entertainment. And maybe a song and dance.]

Having found his way to Jaina's room for no good reason whatsoever, John leaned against the doorframe. "So this is the third floor."

"It seems closer to the ground than the fifth floor," he faked a thoughtful look.

He stepped inside, looking for a spot to lean or slouch. "How's your week been?"

John sat on the chair and settled into a comfortable slouch. "Mine either," he agreed. "A couple seem much more serious than anticipated. Like Ethics class."

"He is that. I found out I am to ask permission to touch your hair," John informed her. "He's very protective of it."

"I'm going to hold you to that," John chuckled. "But he was just warning me."

"Hey, at least he cares enough to try to scare boys away," John pointed out.

"I had a very quiet class," Inara said without preamble as she entered carrying several books. "How are you?"

"I think so? And is there a reason you're, ah, stalking your brother?" She frowned, "Does it matter which brother?"

"What's a hoverboard?" She was more than happy to listen to the details, even if she didn't understand what Jaina was talking about. "Um, communication, ironically."

[identity profile] ambassadorinara.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
"Have you taken them apart now?" With all the parts scattered around, it was sometimes difficult to tell. "I'll keep you posted. Is everything all right with your brother, I hope?"

"I don't know about little brothers, but I'll take your word for it." She set the books on her desk, then curled up on the bed.

"They're good so far. I think Lulu really knows what she's talking about, though I almost wish I wasn't taking her class with Gavin. What about yours?"

"There's a class on shooting monsters?" Inara looked intrigued by that, if not particularly eager to take it herself. "And yes, she was. I took one over the summer with Professor Bluth, but his methods and information were too misinformed for me."
