Room 313, bright and early Monday morning

Jaina didn't have classes on Monday. She hadn't had any trouble sleeping. There hadn't been any great Fandom call to arms, even. And yet she was awake, because she wasn't sure how serious "bright and early" was.

She got ready as quietly as possible, then decided the best place to wait was back on her bed. Not sleeping, really. Or at least she was definitely awake enough to hear a knock.

She knew too many morning people.

Smiling over at her, John attempted to flail and run at the same time. Hopefully Jaina was out of range of his wild arms.

Yeah, she ended up moving out of the way really quickly, mostly because she had to slow down due to cracking up laughing. "Very nice!"

He couldn't help joining in with her laughter. "I'm glad you approve. I don't flail my arms about for just anyone."

"That may be the sweetest thing I've ever heard," she giggled. "Thank you for that. My day is made."

"Always at your service," he smiled.

"Those are dangerous words," she warned. "Now I might ask you to do it in public, just to see if you mean that."

"I do mean it and I'd hope you wouldn't use your powers for evil," he cautioned.

Jaina pretended to consider this. "I suppose I could play it by ear. Not use said powers for evil unless I had a really good reason or something."

"That sounds good. Wait until I really annoy you and then bring out the big guns," John pretended to agree.

"Damn. Now you know my strategy. I might have to come up with something else," Jaina frowned.

"Well, you think on it and get back to me," he frowned back.

"That would still be revealing my strategy," Jaina pointed out. "We'd be right back at square... Well, I think square one was a few dozen steps behind us at the moment."

"Then we'll just have to keep moving forward and hope for the best," he recommended. "There is breakfast at the end of the path, after all."

She looked genuinely surprised at that. "There is?"

"What? You thought I would drag you out of bed at o'dark thirty to go running and not provide sustenance at the end of the line?" John grinned. "Unless you don't like breakfast."

"I did not say that," she said quickly, and grinned. "A lot of people wouldn't do that, you know. You get points for that."

"What do these points I've accrued get me?" he wondered.

"I haven't decided, since I've only just started adding them," she admitted. "But they'll get you something."

"A good something?"

"I think I can pull together a good something," she said slowly.

"Excellent. I look forward to my point system reward," he said. "That sounds weird when I say it like that.'

"Yeah, I think we should probably steer away from calling it that..."

"We could call it time for breakfast?" He asked, sidestepping the strange and changing topics all at once.

She definitely appreciated that. "That would be good. Strangely enough, I happen to be hungry."
