Room 313, Sunday evening

Waking up with someone she didn't recognize while not knowing her own name or where she was or why she was where she'd been was bad, yes. Finding out this didn't just apply to her and John was bad, too.

But still not knowing and not having any way of finding the information was making Jaina seriously Annoyed. It was like whoever she was didn't own much of anything that hadn't once been a piece of something, and would it be so hard for her to do something like keep a journal?

At the moment, she was still digging through her side of the room, trying to find any tiny scrap of definitive information she could. Okay, she'd been over this before and she knew she wouldn't find anything she hadn't already, but taking things apart and messing up the things she didn't know she'd just cleaned up last week was kind of therapeudic.

That got the first smile out of her in a day. She had no idea who he was, but she could see why she apparently hung out with him. "I must talk a lot," she said.

"What makes you say that?" he asked, looking surprised.

"You know a lot about me," she pointed out.

"Not so much," he replied. "But I like to listen, and I remember just about everything."

"If I'm not still extremely grateful for that when this wears off, never speak to me again," she said, because otherwise her night would probably end in her accidentally-or-not sending something flying across the room in frustration.

He had to laugh. "Very well, but I don't think it will be an issue."

"I'm so glad to hear you say that," she admitted, because it wasn't like she knew her personality.

"Any way I can help, I'm happy too, even if it's just with reassurance."

"I love you, never change," she sighed. "Honestly, I'm feeling a lot better than I probably should."

He blushed and shook his head. "Well, you are somewhere safe, you're not the only one it's happened to, and you are not the sort of person to panic easily," he said. "So it makes sense that you would be fairly calm."

She nodded, accepting this and deciding he was right. "If this isn't over soon, though? I'm going to make it over. I'm just not sure how yet."

"Jaina?" he said, very seriously. "If this isn't over soon, I'll help you."

"Are we the hugging sort of friends?" she wondered. "Because I think that deserves it."

Karal gave that some thought, then smiled. "We have not been thus far, but I don't think that means we couldn't be."

"Good," she said, walking over to wrap her arms around him in a hug.

He hugged her in return, still smiling. "It will all work out, I'm sure of it."

It wasn't even that she was worried, she just hated being as frustrated as she had been. Which he'd pretty much taken care of. "Thanks," she said, smiling a little as she released him.

"You're welcome," he replied as he stepped back. "And I had best go, but I'm upstairs in 413 should you have any need of me, or if this doesn't pass."

"413," she repeated, nodding. "I'll remember that."

"Good." He smiled again. "Take care, Jaina," he said, and turned, about to leave, then stopped when Inara came in.
