RAF Mildenhall, UK- Saturday Fandom time

Jaina was really regretting getting John that Snuggie for his twenty-sixth birthday, for the simple fact that he never seemed to want to take it off. She'd raised an eyebrow when he said that he wanted it, and moreso when she actually had to go buy one and it was suddenly reality, but she'd figured it was something that he'd think was cool for a day and that'd be it.

Nope.

And after a while of watching him walk around in it today, she finally just had to say it. "Why do I think I'm being replaced by a sheet of fabric with holes?"

[For the Snuggie wearer. For shame.]

She was so unintentionally dirty. "Not just any holes," John corrected, smoothing his dark blue Snuggie across his lap as he took a seat. "Holes that keep me warm and still allow freedom of movement."

And yet he wasn't saying it hadn't replaced her. Hmm.

"It was on the box," John said with a shrug. A warm shrug, given the way the Snuggie tucked around his neck and the warm fleece clung to his shoulders with the power of static electricity.

"No," he told her, frowning because he was not Rain Man, "I just remember it said somethin' like that. What's your issue with the Snuggie? I told you we should have gotten two."

"We could get it altered," he suggested, lifting up the side to pull over her legs. Given that they'd yet to really define what exactly it was they were doing together again, John very nearly asked when she became his girlfriend out of curiosity. Instead, he went with, "It could be a replacement boyfriend when you're in Fandom."

"Feels like weeks to me," he teased, giving her a nudge with a fleece-y arm. "And backs are completely overrated."

"You act like I don't wear pants under it," he said, making a face like maybe he should try it.

"Because you take me so seriously now?" John held back the laughter by the grace of Snuggie warmth.

That actually sounded kind of gross. "Yeah, let's not say that ever again."

"I seem to recall hearing that from you before," John realized.

"No, that you never thought you'd be having this conversation," he clarified.

Yeah, it was obvious she liked having him around.

"Better that than hearing you're bored with me," he figured.

"Just like you could never be jealous of a blanket with sleeves," John pointed out with a wee smirk on his face. Sometimes it was fun to mess with her.

Okay, all the time.

"Attention that could be focused on..." John tapped his chin for a moment, "right, you!"
