Room 313, Monday afternoon

After classes, Jaina came back upstairs, closing her closet door against a pair of talking boots- talk about unethical treatment some more now- and decided she just had to go ahead and make the call home. It might be the weirdest question ever, but she'd volunteered to have it and really, this was something she might as well talk about anyway. Back to real life and all.

Besides, the look on her uncle's face when she explained that she needed to know a wedding ceremony- not for her- but so that he could officiate the marriage of his father to his 19-year-old girlfriend was pretty classic.

[Door's closed, post is open post-Luke trauma.]

"Not like it's a big thing," he pointed out, because he didn't want to make it one. "But I don't think anyone here knows that my mom died when I was a kid." Probably because he never told anyone. Ever.

"It was a long time ago," he said, dismissing any assumption of sadness. "I'm okay with it." Not that he was going to reject the scooting.

"Thanks, I'm not really good with the whole sympathy thing," he admitted.

"I talk about it if it comes up," he said. "But I'm not pushing to tell everyone."

He was actually surprised they'd gotten to the point where he could. "So you got anything to throw at me while we seem to be doing this disclosure thing?"

"That sounds familiar so far," John nodded, remembering what Luke told him about the most recent kidnapping trauma. "Though I might have missed out on the trauma."

"I'm in no hurry to leave," he assured her.

"That is a lot," he agreed, scooting closer and resting his hands on his knees. "Tell me what you feel like telling."

"Serious and successful?" he asked.

"Force lightning? I don't think I've heard about that."

"And you were on the receiving end of that?" he frowned, really not liking the sound of that.

"Yeah, I can understand that feeling," he nodded. "I don't know how you stay so normal after having been through so much."
