Coruscant- Wednesday Fandom time

Between the fight with Mara and worrying about Mara, Jaina hadn't been in the mood to deal with bickering today. She'd come back to the task force office in the Temple determined to get work done. Even the boys had decided to mostly stay clear of her, and Jag, knowing how Jaina worked, made sure to give her all the information he had before checking out for the night, thus ensuring she'd be busy as long as she wanted to be.

She was sitting in front of a display, waiting for the data she'd input to come up with something she could use, and mentally cursing it every time she felt it needed to go faster. Looked like she'd used up her patience with this earlier.

"Which makes me wonder how he's the one you leave kids with," she admitted.

"I don't really like kids?" Eric replied.

"Should have guessed that when you mentioned eating the apprentices," she said.

Eric grinned toothily. "They have superpowers. They'd have a fair chance."

"They're kids!" Jaina told him. "And still in training."

"Fiiiiiine," Eric said in the tone of someone granting an enormous favor. "I won't eat the teacup humans."

"Good. Because then I'd get upset and have to hurt you. And then I'd kick your ass at cards," she nodded.

Eric snorted. "Good to know."

"You say that like I wouldn't do it," she mostly teased. Said, of course, while looking at the display.

"Has anything gone bing yet?"

He was pretty savvy, but this level of tech was beyond him.

She shook her head. "I added my parents' last known coordinates to see if maybe that would help, but given the way they bounce around I'm afraid I just confused it."

"Maybe," Eric replied. "You think she's tracking your relatives down?"

[solo_sword]

"She definitely is, I just don't know if she's doing it right now. Mom tried to kill her, ended up only disfiguring her," she explained. "And Alema's honestly certifiable and holds a grudge. We're still trying to find her connection to Lumiya, though, and Lumiya's been at least trying to make it seem like she's aiming at someone in the family, too."

"What a charming pair," Eric said dryly. "You should definitely kill them."

"Oh, it'll happen. And I won't even be sorry about it," she said. "As soon as we kriffing find them."

"Kriffing?" Eric repeated, sounding a little amused.

"That can't have been the first time you've heard that," she said. Though if he had heard it here, it was guaranteed to have come from her.

"Well, no, but it still doesn't sound like a real word," Eric said.

"Welcome to a galaxy full of new slang and curse words," she said with a little smile.

"Swedish is better," Eric declared.

"Why, because you're used to it?" she asked. Meanwhile Jaina knew all of one word of it.

"Yes," Eric decided.

"Well, I'm used to mine, so..."

"But mine is better and I'm older so there," Eric declared.
