Room 313, bright and early Monday morning

Jaina didn't have classes on Monday. She hadn't had any trouble sleeping. There hadn't been any great Fandom call to arms, even. And yet she was awake, because she wasn't sure how serious "bright and early" was.

She got ready as quietly as possible, then decided the best place to wait was back on her bed. Not sleeping, really. Or at least she was definitely awake enough to hear a knock.

She knew too many morning people.

"Pleased as punch," he grinned and then thought that might confuse her. "Meaning, yes."

He stretched his arms over his head. "You know, we can start running anytime you're ready."

"Well, you kept talking," she teased. "I'm ready. I need to see your run."

"And here I thought you were stalling," he teased before trotting off toward the preserve. "Come on, you don't want to stare at my back the whole time."

She did have to trail behind him a little when she got started. "...Of course not," she said, totally innocently as she caught up. "Why would I be stalling?"

"Because I get the feeling you don't like running," he said pointedly as he started moving faster.

She immediately sped up to keep pace. "I don't mind running. I mind the dawn hours of the morning."

"The early morning is great," he argued. "There's hardly anyone up at this time."

"It doesn't occur to you that that's because the sane people are still in bed?"

"So you're saying I'm insane?"

"Only if you look at it a certain way," she said lightly.

"What does it say about you for agreeing to come along?"

"I'm all right with claiming temporary insanity," Jaina said, and she technically nodded, but that's hard to do when running.

"Good to hear," John said. "So, how are you finding my run?"

"Very normal," she said approvingly, looking over at him. But she couldn't not tease. "And here I was hoping for bouncing, or arm-flailing..."

"Oh, I can show you some arm-flailing if it would make you happy," he smirked.

Jaina grinned. "Oh, it would."

Smiling over at her, John attempted to flail and run at the same time. Hopefully Jaina was out of range of his wild arms.

Yeah, she ended up moving out of the way really quickly, mostly because she had to slow down due to cracking up laughing. "Very nice!"

He couldn't help joining in with her laughter. "I'm glad you approve. I don't flail my arms about for just anyone."

"That may be the sweetest thing I've ever heard," she giggled. "Thank you for that. My day is made."

"Always at your service," he smiled.

"Those are dangerous words," she warned. "Now I might ask you to do it in public, just to see if you mean that."

"I do mean it and I'd hope you wouldn't use your powers for evil," he cautioned.

Jaina pretended to consider this. "I suppose I could play it by ear. Not use said powers for evil unless I had a really good reason or something."

"That sounds good. Wait until I really annoy you and then bring out the big guns," John pretended to agree.
