Room 313, Sunday afternoon

With the time change she didn't quite understand, Jaina had seen an opportunity to get some more sleep and have a nice easy day. This didn't work out as planned, though, as her body and brain had both decided they'd already had the required amount of sleep, thanks, and she'd gotten up to go and practice some drills because it was much less boring than laying there.

When she got back and cleaned up, she was almost tempted to head down to the garage for a while. Maybe it was the recent transmissions home or certain conversations she'd been having lately, but she was getting a bit restless knowing there was nothing she could do from here. It was a new feeling, one she didn't like, and while she knew she should probably learn to deal with it, she didn't see that happening. Still, staying in for five more minutes was showing an effort, right?

"That's understandable, I suppose," she said, "You're far from most of your family, after all. You can always celebrate more later, if you want."

"What kind of reactions have you been getting?" She asked, sitting down on the bed near her things. "Natal days are usually spent in quiet contemplation and companionship in the House, so I'm not that used to big celebrations either.'

"Maybe he could just drop in. And it's November 10th," she said, smiling, "but that's not for another month or so, so you're safe."

"I feel amazingly stupid," she chuckled, "but yes, a week's warning is very helpful. Thank you for keeping me updated--I don't know where the time is going."

"Like the dinosaurs and husbands from the future?" Yeah, she wasn't getting over that anytime soon.

"At some point in the future, I apparently suffer a debilitating head injury, suffer extensive brain damage, and marry the biggest ass in the known universe," she explained.

"It might be very helpful," she decided. "I met him over Parents' Weekend. Called me Mrs. Reynolds. Just...no."

"Not as far as I know," she said, "Oh my goodness, do you think I end up as a classemate's stepmother? That would be so very odd. Karal told me I should ask Principal Washburn about him, but I don't know..."

"I have to admit that I am a little bit curious," she said sheepishly, "but maybe I shouldn't. I forget about the timeline being an issue for me, and then something happens. How do you deal with this all the time?"

"Really? I'd think that would be very difficult," she said.

"You're much better at it than I am," she decided, "I'd want to tell everyone, or try to fix things for them."
