The beach- Thursday evening

Jaina's portal was delayed. She had no idea how a portal could be delayed, but here she was. After a while of waiting at the causeway, she'd come to the beach, figuring that if she was going to be stuck waiting, she should at least get a change of scenery.

Watching the waves made her think too much, though. About her grandfather and Tiny Mom, about how certain things just kept popping up through the years, even about how much her thinking had changed since she was sixteen. That was when she'd check her datapad to read up on what was going on on Corellia, because potential conflict was a happier subject.

Or she'd check on her portal's ETA and curse at the very idea of gnomes when she saw it was delayed again. How?

Eric made a face. "They control time or something, don't they? Control it better."

"This is why I like you," Jaina decided. "Here to keep me company?"

"At least until the sun comes up," Eric said. "Because being on fire wasn't really in my plans for tomorrow."

"I am not allowed to be here till the sun comes up, so I think you're fine there," she assured him.

"In that case, yes, I'm here until your portal is ready," Eric declared. "What an amazing guy I am for it. I deserve sex."

Not really.

"Oh, that was smooth," she laughed.

"I try," he replied, grinning at her.

[solo_sword]

"We'll see how bored I get," she teased.

He scooted closer. "You have to be bored to sleep with me? That's not how I remember it."

"And how do you remember it?" That might not be a good question to ask, which she didn't realize till after she said it.

Eric chuckled. "Would you like a chart?"

"Well, now I do..." Not really, no.

He waggled his eyebrows and began sketching out some extremely lewd stick figures in the sand.

"More like this?"

Somehow she had not exactly expected him to do it.

"You came up with that way too fast."

"I'm very smart," he informed her. "Not much of an artist, though," he conceded.

[solo_sword]

"But yet I understand exactly what you're getting at," she said with a little lopsided grin.

"Well, the intention of art is to communicate," he said, grinning back.

[solo_sword]

"And not just to draw dirty pictures because you can?" she asked.

"And that," Eric added.

[solo_sword]

"I don't remember that one," Jaina said, pointing to one.

[texted3times]

"Good eye," he commented, smiling. "We haven't tried it yet."

Hint, hint.

"We should sometime," she said, playing innocent.

"Nowish?" he offered.

[solo_sword]

Jaina checked her chrono to see how much time she actually had. "I can't miss my portal," she warned.

She should totally miss her portal.

"I'll get you another one," Eric promised, leaning in to kiss her. No man ever was going to say he could make it fast.
