The beach- Thursday evening

Jaina's portal was delayed. She had no idea how a portal could be delayed, but here she was. After a while of waiting at the causeway, she'd come to the beach, figuring that if she was going to be stuck waiting, she should at least get a change of scenery.

Watching the waves made her think too much, though. About her grandfather and Tiny Mom, about how certain things just kept popping up through the years, even about how much her thinking had changed since she was sixteen. That was when she'd check her datapad to read up on what was going on on Corellia, because potential conflict was a happier subject.

Or she'd check on her portal's ETA and curse at the very idea of gnomes when she saw it was delayed again. How?

"I can't really see you spending time with a doormat," Eric agreed, nipping at her neck.

"Doormats don't do anything fun," she said with a little happy sigh. "It's right there in the name."

"We, on the other hand," he said, "have lots of fun."

Like, for example, what his hand was currently doing.

So much fun that she was proud of herself for managing a distracted "Uh huh" noise, even.

Eric chuckled against her ear and kept going.

"Definitely not a doormat," she murmured, reaching a hand to start undoing his pants.

[texted3times]

"Doormats are not nearly this dextrous either," Eric agreed, wriggling a bit to help her.

[solo_sword]

"You know this for a fact?" she teased, starting to slide the pants down.

[texted3times]

"I have done a lot of things," Eric said. "An actual doormat isn't one of them."

[solo_sword]

"This is not the time to make me laugh," Jaina told him.

"I thought women liked men who could make them laugh," Eric replied.

[solo_sword]

"Not with the visual of you and a literal doormat," she said, giggling. "Though I'm sure it would have been a very happy doormat..."

"I'd have looked like some ridiculous human hopped up on V," Eric declared.

[solo_sword]

"Should I be glad I don't know what that is?" she asked, kissing along his jaw.

"Humans use vampire blood as a drug," he said. "It has certain side-effects."

Jason, Eric judged you.

"Mmm, carry on with that," he added, closing his eyes.

[solo_sword]

"People can be weird," Jaina decided, carrying on with that.

"I've watched them for more than a thousand years," Eric said. "They are definitely weird."

[solo_sword]

"Thanks for that," said the human, nipping lightly.

"Not saying you don't have your uses--"

"Not helping..." she teased.

Eric shifted so that they more closely resembled the stick figures he'd drawn in the sand (but, you know, real) and kissed her to stop the conversation.
