The beach- Thursday evening

Jaina's portal was delayed. She had no idea how a portal could be delayed, but here she was. After a while of waiting at the causeway, she'd come to the beach, figuring that if she was going to be stuck waiting, she should at least get a change of scenery.

Watching the waves made her think too much, though. About her grandfather and Tiny Mom, about how certain things just kept popping up through the years, even about how much her thinking had changed since she was sixteen. That was when she'd check her datapad to read up on what was going on on Corellia, because potential conflict was a happier subject.

Or she'd check on her portal's ETA and curse at the very idea of gnomes when she saw it was delayed again. How?

"I don't remember that one," Jaina said, pointing to one.

"Good eye," he commented, smiling. "We haven't tried it yet."

"We should sometime," she said, playing innocent.

"Nowish?" he offered.

Jaina checked her chrono to see how much time she actually had. "I can't miss my portal," she warned.

She should totally miss her portal.

"I'll get you another one," Eric promised, leaning in to kiss her. No man ever was going to say he could make it fast.

Wow, he didn't even bother asking how much time she had. That was impressive. So she kissed him back, finally murmuring, "I guess I can spare some time."

"That sounds like an excellent plan," Eric declared.

[solo_sword]

"You're a bad influence," she decided, telling herself that her portal would probably get delayed again anyway...

Though this probably would keep her from murdering any gnomes, so everyone wins.

"Not necessarily a bad thing," he replied.

"Oh, definitely a bad thing," she teased. Well, half-teased. Because he was totally a bad influence.

"Well, vampire," Eric said. "If I don't have a bad reputation I'm doing it right."

"People definitely call you scary-" Surely no one could imagine why. "-but I'm not sure that's what you mean..."

"They do?"

Eric, that's not supposed to be a turn-on.

"What, are you surprised?" she asked.

"No, just glad to here it's being noticed," he decided.

"I think it'd be impossible not to," she said with a grin.

There hadn't ever been a time in Jaina's life when she thought she'd be telling a guy 'Oh, no, they totally know you're scary' and have that be a good thing.

Eric grinned back, then leaned in to kiss her.

She kissed him back, but don't mind her being really amused after a moment. "So that does it for you, huh?"

"Maybe," Eric admitted.

"There are worse things," she decided, going to kiss him again.

"Such as?" Eric asked, pulling her into his lap.

Making herself more comfortable, she slid her arms around his neck. "I don't know, mass murder and puppy-killing? And if either of those actually are turn-ons, lie."
