Coruscant- Wednesday Fandom time

Between the fight with Mara and worrying about Mara, Jaina hadn't been in the mood to deal with bickering today. She'd come back to the task force office in the Temple determined to get work done. Even the boys had decided to mostly stay clear of her, and Jag, knowing how Jaina worked, made sure to give her all the information he had before checking out for the night, thus ensuring she'd be busy as long as she wanted to be.

She was sitting in front of a display, waiting for the data she'd input to come up with something she could use, and mentally cursing it every time she felt it needed to go faster. Looked like she'd used up her patience with this earlier.

"Be sure to tell people you're playing with me," she said. "I want to hear about their reactions."

Eric returned ten minutes later with cards, a slightly sour expression and a half-dozen apprentices trailing behind him. "They think you're going to make me cry."

Jaina had spent her time trying to input more information to yield better results, and she had to laugh when she looked away from the display. "Oh, that's not nice," she told the apprentices. "Probably true, but not nice."

"Hey!" Eric protested.

"I'm sorry. What I meant to say was, I'm sure you're a very competent player which means this game will be very boring to watch," she said.

"Better," Eric declared. Whether the apprentices were buying that was not his problem.

"Besides, wanting to watch the suffering of others is not the Jedi way," Jaina went on. "And I know all your Masters."

No, she didn't, she wasn't around enough for that.

"And if I get too upset, I might forget myself and try to eat you," Eric added sweetly.

Jaina stared at him. "Really, Eric?"

"Maybe I care really deeply about card games," he said.

He didn't.

Jaina shooed the apprentices away (a couple of the younger ones suddenly looked really relieved), and said, "You make for a horrible babysitter, don't you?"

"Yes," Eric said. "If you want to leave your children with a vampire, pick Bill."

"I would never do that, considering all the times you've called him a dick," she said, glancing at the display again. "Also I don't know him. And lack children."

"And he's a dick," Eric said. "It's important enough to mention twice."

"Which makes me wonder how he's the one you leave kids with," she admitted.

"I don't really like kids?" Eric replied.

[solo_sword]

"Should have guessed that when you mentioned eating the apprentices," she said.

Eric grinned toothily. "They have superpowers. They'd have a fair chance."

[solo_sword]

"They're kids!" Jaina told him. "And still in training."

[texted3times]

"Fiiiiiine," Eric said in the tone of someone granting an enormous favor. "I won't eat the teacup humans."

"Good. Because then I'd get upset and have to hurt you. And then I'd kick your ass at cards," she nodded.

Eric snorted. "Good to know."

[solo_sword]

"You say that like I wouldn't do it," she mostly teased. Said, of course, while looking at the display.

"Has anything gone bing yet?"

He was pretty savvy, but this level of tech was beyond him.

She shook her head. "I added my parents' last known coordinates to see if maybe that would help, but given the way they bounce around I'm afraid I just confused it."
