MHA #-1- Wednesday evening

Okay. So. Obviously this week was one of those weeks. The last time this had happened, Jaina was completely fine with it, due to having a boyfriend she could lock herself in a room with for a few days. When you were single and didn't have that option and this all hadn't ended after a few days, it wasn't as fun. It was frustrating. And you might think training might take some of the edge off, but no. It didn't.

She put up with that for two whole days before basically deciding screw it, if she was going to have this little friendly arrangement, this was a very good time to take advantage of it. Which was how she ended up heading over to MHA and knocking on the door of a certain basement apartment and thinking he better be home. And that no one else should be there.

[For he who rents said apartment.]

John was home, but not for lack of going out. Other than time spent meeting Shelley's inanimate friends, he'd had an interesting encounter with a barista in the morning that earned him a smack after she asked if there was anything else he needed.

Sometimes honesty wasn't the best policy, even if John hadn't known exactly where his extreme honesty had come from other than the general air of lust all around the island.

No matter, now he was home and answering the door in hopes of finding an errant pizza boy. "Jaina! Not what I expected, but not unwelcome."

John's eyes widened in amusement given his week so far, but he stepped aside to let her in because he wasn't completely stupid. "Hi. Guess it's safe to assume you'd like to come in."

"It's okay," he said with a chuckle, shutting the door behind her and leaning against it for a moment. "It's not like I ever say no." To anyone, though he wasn't sure why he was sharing that.

"Give up on sex?" John blinked down at her, leaning in a little since she liked it. "I didn't realize I was that important." His mouth needed to stop.

"If not for me?" All lust aside, John was feeling a little confused by what he was hearing from her.

Right, John was kind of concerned by all this talk when she was here for a booty call. "I probably know better than to ask since you said this was a booty call, but uh, you thought I was scary?"

John stopped leaning and started walking into his living room. "No, because now you're scaring me." Wait, he wasn't supposed to admit that...

He turned, having incorrectly assumed she would follow. "What, like things are going to end well with you and me?" John didn't need honesty day to answer that one properly.

John looked at her, shaking his head in exasperation. "Why are we even talking about this now? Can't we just make out like normal people?" Yeah, he was so not get that booty call.

"Fine, just because you have super powers," he said, folding his arms over his chest. "So, what now?"

If John had ever wanted to participate in therapy he'd have taken up Heightmeyer one of the twenty times she called him in to her office. "And still somehow I get the feeling you're about to tell me all your issues. Lemme guess, all men leave?"

John flopped down on the sofa, not feeling like standing for this. "Maybe you should save it for the important ones," he replied, figuring he knew who she meant.

"I think that's what you're saying," he told her. "Not that this conversation needs to be happening." Especially with her just standing there staring.
