Coruscant- Wednesday Fandom time

Between the fight with Mara and worrying about Mara, Jaina hadn't been in the mood to deal with bickering today. She'd come back to the task force office in the Temple determined to get work done. Even the boys had decided to mostly stay clear of her, and Jag, knowing how Jaina worked, made sure to give her all the information he had before checking out for the night, thus ensuring she'd be busy as long as she wanted to be.

She was sitting in front of a display, waiting for the data she'd input to come up with something she could use, and mentally cursing it every time she felt it needed to go faster. Looked like she'd used up her patience with this earlier.

Jaina managed a little smile. "Keep me company while the data processes," she said. "Besides, I think Jag's unofficially done for the night."

Eric sat down and stretched his long (but thankfully only two) legs out in front of him. "How long will it take?"

"However long it needs to configure two people's last known coordinates with travel patterns, taking into account habitable planets and space stations and the time it takes to get there," she said. "So, in a galaxy this big... a while."

"Want to play cards or something while we wait?" Eric suggested. "I won't even suggest strip poker."

That was kind of a loss since she was sure he'd be the only one losing clothing, but she was being good these days.

"You mean you want me to take all your money?"

Eric scoffed at her. "Why do you think you'd win?"

[solo_sword]

"Because it's what I do, are you new?" she said, glancing at the display to make sure she wasn't cutting into valuable planning time by maybe untensing a bit.

"You're a professional poker player?" Eric teased.

[solo_sword]

"I've got some skills," she said vaguely. "Ask Jag about learning this the hard way."

"I'm better than Jag!" Eric proclaimed. "Because I'm taller."

And tall people were better at poker. It was fact.

"And how does your height have anything to do with it?" she asked.

"It just does," Eric declared.

[solo_sword]

"I don't buy it," she said, because she could.

[texted3times]

"Well not with my money, you can't," Eric declared with a little smirk. "You're not winning any of it."

He'd declared himself Chief Jaina Distractor.

"If you have cards on you, I'm going to think you have an ulterior motive here," she told him.

"I don't," Eric admitted, "but it can't be too tough to find some."

[solo_sword]

"It might to be the kind of deck you're used to," she said with a little lopsided smirk.

"So you're planning on cheating with your space cards!" Eric accused playfully.

[solo_sword]

"There's no honor in cheating. I'm planning on winning with my space cards," she said, glancing at the display again. That was going to be a thing.

"You talk a big game, but I haven't seen you play--" Eric replied.

[solo_sword]

"That's because I have to get them." And there was a screen to obsess over.

Eric smiled and stood up. "But you're waiting for a thing to go bing," he said. "I'll go find cards."

"Be sure to tell people you're playing with me," she said. "I want to hear about their reactions."

Eric returned ten minutes later with cards, a slightly sour expression and a half-dozen apprentices trailing behind him. "They think you're going to make me cry."

Jaina had spent her time trying to input more information to yield better results, and she had to laugh when she looked away from the display. "Oh, that's not nice," she told the apprentices. "Probably true, but not nice."
